A custom covered antique camel stool, an inherited mid century modern console, a hide rug layered over sisal, and additional trim added to stock draperies all helped to make this couple's first home a well designed dream.
The young client's first home was designed on a budget and alot of hands-on involvement in projects, like art and accessories. The bulk of their investment in decor was placed in the major furnishings- the sofa and chairs.
The home office's neutral color palette has a surprise of turquoise added to punch up the style factor. A large round wall mirror and multi-faceted modern light fixture make the room look larger than it's dimensions. Subtle wallpaper and an area rug over wall-to-wall carpet give extra well designed layers to this room.
Velvet tape trim was added to a stock lamp shade to add a custom layer. Abstract artwork punctuated the young couple's vibe.
The small guest room is big on style. A large rectangular designer tablecloth was fashioned as a decorative canopy over a queen sized bed. Mirrored end tables and a minimally curated design give this room to breathe. Well placed patterns and touches give guests plenty to look at.
Symmetrically placed mirrored pieces enlarge the master bedroom. A custom headboard gives a designer's touch to the inviting bed, layered with thoughtful patterns and textures. An eclectic light fixture adds a touch of whimsy and unpredictability to an otherwise traditionally styled bedroom.
