2013 color forecast

I know there are many forecasts from different manufacturers, but today I found that Sherwin-Williams picked Aloe as the 2013 color of the year:

I am surprised a bit, since I used this color several years ago in my home and I'm thinking it's not THAT current. But I love it still.

Pantone has picked Monoco Blue as their 2013 Fashion Color of Spring ( doesn't sound like they are committing to a whole year!) Their Home Color of the Year hasn't been announced yet.
Funny that they don't pick the same color...who is right?  P.S. This is the color of my kitchen I painted 10 years ago.

Here is Sherwin-Williams 2013 color forecast.  Remember our post on Monday? Now these are some saturated colors!

  1. Hi Nancy, I really like the Aloe, on my screen it looks a little Swedish blue. The living room in the last photo speaks to me, I have the same Worlds Away coffee table, and the velvet chocolate sofa is a great focal point. And the pale lavender bedroom is divine. I would sleep well there.
    Have a very happy Thanksgiving!

  2. It is funny that looking at the color strips I disliked the neutrals but enjoyed the neutral rooms most. I love the abstract wall too.

  3. I love the aloe color. That would look great with the Gustavian palette. Very serene and soothing, just like aloe :)
I hope you all have a wonderful and warm Thanksgiving!

  7. I wonder how they decide on the color of the year? They're all pretty but I'm a white-wall girl myself. Love the fresh look of white walls in my house, but I really enjoy color in other people's homes. Wonder what that means? Fear of committment? Haha :)

    Have a great Thanksgiving!

  8. Hmmm, I like the Aloe but not sure I would use it anywhere except a bedroom. FYI, the Monaco Blue is only a fashion pick. The actual Pantone colour of the year comes out sometime in the next week or two. I made the same mistake and posted about Monaco Blue only to receive an email from Pantone's PR company asking me to correct the mistake. Love the colour though whether for fashion or interiors.
